Stacey's

I was completely unaware of this shop until I saw a post on a Pie and Mash group on Facebook. It’s been hiding away on Timberlog Lane. We arrived mid-morning to have our post-gym pie and mash, with eels for the lady of course.

Stacey’s is a café as well and has a full menu, but everyone in the café was eating pie and mash when I was there. I believe that they make their own pies, so we have another authentic shop.
The taste of the pastry stood out to me, different from other shops. Perhaps the pies were not as big as other shops, but they were well filled. Everything was hot, delicious and faultless. There was enough mash and liquor to keep me full for the afternoon. We have another 10/10.
The double-double cost £13 with a single-single at £6.50 making it top-end, but not unreasonable. Definitely worth a visit, although the best way to get there is by car. There’s parking outside.
